Description
Hirokuni Shirogami1 Nakiri Knife with a 240mm blade.
Yukihiro Sakai is a young talented blacksmith who is not using pre-laminated steel, he is doing that himself. Shirogami1 is the favorite steel for traditional carbon steel knives. The steel is reactive and develops a patina on the exposed butting edge. The cladding is done with some soft iron and it comes with a kurochi finish.
The 240mm is not a typo, it is a very long Nakiri, great for cabbage and watermelon.
The oval handle is made from cherry wood with a plastic ferrule.
