Masakage Yuki Bunka Knife with a 170mm blade.
The Masakage Yuki range is made out of a hand forged Shirogami 2 carbon steel cutting core which is sandwiched into stainless steel to protect the core from tarnishing. Yuki is the Japanese word for snow and when you see the surface of the blade that all makes sense. Another description for that kind of blade finish is nashiji which refers to the rougher skin of a Nashi pear. Mr Kato, the blacksmith has over 50 years of experience in the knife making industry and all his knives have a very accurate fit and finish. The oval handle is made out of magnolia wood with a red pakka bolster.
