Sukenari Ginsan Damascus Santoku knife with a 190mm blade.
Sukenari is a small maker from Toyama. Their work is extremely tidy and you can see the skills on any of their products. The blades are made out of stainless Gin-san (Gingami No.3) . This steel is similar to VG-10 but needs forging. It is slightly easier to sharpen than the VG steels. The damascus pattern are beautiful mirror polished and the fit and finish is top notch. The octagonal handles are made out of Ebony wood with a buffalo horn ferrule. The handle is significantly heavier than the Ichii wood so it gives the knife a more solid feel. These knives are truly high end and won’t disappoint any knife connoisseurs.
