The Tojiro Shippu Black range shines with 63 layers of stainless damascus steel. The cutting core is made out of VG-10 on of the most popular stainless steel in the knife industry. The very slightly D-shaped traditional Japanese handle is made out burnt chestnut wood ad a resin ferrule. The heat treatment makes the handle surface stronger. The blade is treated with black oxide, a technique often used for medical equipment, to improve corrosion resistance and adds a stunning look to the blade.
