Tojiro Zen Black Petty knife with a 135mm blade.
The Tojiro Zen range has a core layer is stainless steel VG10 steel which is clad in 13-chrome stainless steel. The 3 layer concept gives the blade strength but also a bit of flexibility. They are reasonably easy to sharpen for the hardness of the steel and they are overall durable and very affordable knives. A black oxide processing, which is the technology often used for medical equipment, has been applied on blade. The blade thus has both outstanding corrosion resistance and beautiful visual aspect. The chestnut handle has been burned to make it more durable and the ferrule is made out of polypropylene resin. These knives are a good alternative to the DP range if you are looking for a more traditional Japanese style knife with a nice black blade design.
