Zakuri is a Japanese word expressing the sound of cutting. The Zakuri knife range is hand made in the Tosa area. The blacksmith uses Aogami #2 carbon steel in a korouchi finish which helps to protect the blade from tarnishing. The D-shape handles are made out of chestnut wood. It is a very affordable range, ideal for people new to Japanese hand forged carbon steel knives. They are good work horses and require a bit TLC to prevent them from rusting.
